Instead of any Thanksgiving-themed crafts, Toddlers, Twos and Threes Art Group returned to one of our favorite crafts: Finger painting!
For added fun and texture, we threw in some string. Kids could drag the string through the paint, then use it on the paper, or they could use the string on the paper once the paint had been applied. Any way you can think to use it, string is the thing!
There was also a significant feeling of collaboration at play on Wednesday morning, so we put our little artists to work on a shared canvas. Lots of space, lots of paint, lots of hands, lots of fun! The results speak for themselves:
Of course, the point of these projects would be lost without the process. Tactile learning is of major importance to the development of young children. Art Group is all about process and having fun with whatever craft we’re doing. And, when it comes to learning and creativity, there’s no shortage of fun to be had.
Toddlers, Twos and Threes Art Group meets every Wednesday at 10 am and is open to all members and visitors (with paid admission to PTLL’s playspace). The group is run by Megan Spak and Elisabeth Moyer.
Note: Due to the holiday, there will not be Art Group on Wednesday, November 23rd.
