On November 6th, 1974, the Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library opened in 5744 Ellsworth Avenue, in a space provided by the Community Mental Health Program of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. The fall of the following year, PTLL moved into a basement space in the First United Methodist Church. In 1999, the organization moved again, to their current location, also with the church.
37 tremendous years and still booming! Every year has depended on the loyalty of our volunteers, members, friends, and supporters, who have kept us thriving.
In celebration of our 37 years in support of children, families and caregivers, we will have a free admission day on Monday, November 7.
Also on that day, we will be offering a $5.00 discount applied to new VOLUNTEER memberships.
If you and your children still haven’t made a visit to PTLL, this is a great time to do so. Come fall in love with this Pittsburgh institution and be a part of our next 37 years.
