Art Group – Wednesday, October 5th

The second meeting of Toddlers, Twos and Threes Art Group was centered around print-making with apples. Elisabeth (with help from her daughter, Abby) cut several apples in half, then made them available next to trays of tempera paints. The kids could dip them in a single color or multiple colors of paint, using them as a both stamp and paintbrush.

Not everyone bothered with the apples. Some kids just wanted to go back to the fingerpainting from last week. It was so much fun, who can blame them?

Of course, there are always those who do not want to be constrained to one medium. That’s why the paint tools and brushes are always available along with the featured painting “tool” of the day.

The printmaking doesn’t have to stop at apples. If you and your kids are looking for other ways to put paint on paper, here are a few ideas:
– Pears
– Leaves
– Rocks
– Fabric (different types yield different print textures)
– Old shoes (Excellent for footprints and texturing)

Toddlers, Twos and Threes Art Group meets every Wednesday at 10 am and is open to all members and visitors (with paid admission to PTLL’s playspace). The group is run by Megan Spak and Elisabeth Moyer.
